The Fashion Institute of Technology & Zebra Technologies announce design competition winners

The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and Zebra Technologies announced the three winning teams of their National Retail Federation booth window design competition. The theme of this year’s competition was ‘One Store, One Experience,’ a nod to Zebra Technologies' advances in providing retailers with solutions from the warehouse to the store floor.
 
Twenty-one students in FIT’s Studio Design course worked in small teams to design store windows reflecting how Zebra Technologies facilitates the various steps in manufacturing and selling products. Chair of FIT’s Visual Presentation and Exhibition Program Craig Berger noted, “Seeing how a complete design process works provides our students with the confidence they need to work on even more advanced projects in the future.”

The winning teams effectively portrayed the complete product design process, including analysis, concept, design and implementation. The winners receive scholarships, and their store window designs will be featured in Zebra Technologies’ booth at the 2016 National Retail Federation’s BIG Show this January in New York City, with an estimated attendance of 33,000 retail industry professionals.
 
The Fashion Institute of Technology, a State University of New York (SUNY), grants associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in art, design, business and technology. Established in 1944 with 100 enrolled students, FIT offers a variety of courses to over 10,000 students on diverse topics including Toy Design, Fashion Merchandising Management, and Menswear Marketing.

Founded in 1969 by Ed Kaplan and Gary Cless, Zebra Technologies Corp. is a global leader in providing tracking and visibility solutions into organizations’ assets, people and transactions.
