The Gents Place franchise grows male grooming concept in new markets

The Gents Place is expanding its men's grooming club lifestyle concept, opening six more Texas locations as part of a five year plan to open 150 locations nationwide.


The Gents Place is a lifestyle club that offers exclusive men's retail, grooming and lifestyle products in a speakeasy atmosphere. The company has seen success in Texas already. It has upcoming plans for both an Austin and Chicago opening.

Beginning this fall, six new Texas clubs will open in the Houston area. The company is aggressively targeting Florida and Georgia, as well as California, Virginia and Maryland for franchise markets.

"What appealed to me most about The Gents Place was how they have so perfectly tapped into this very underserved market – male grooming – a growing and thriving $5 billion plus industry," said franchisee Jeff Stocks.

Founded in 2008, The Gents Place creates a unique experiential environment in its clubs where men can come for luxury grooming treatments including manicures, pedicures and shaves. Podcasts, blog posts and other lifestyle branding distinguish it from traditional barber shops or salons.

In addition to grooming, The Gents Place offers shoe shines and retail products. Truefitt & Hill, and Lakme join private label brand Rascal to offer men luxury grooming and personal care items.

Founder Ben Davis explained of The Gents Place story, "We find it profoundly important that our clients enjoy as much time as they can among their families, careers, and pastimes—but it’s equally important they benefit from the time they devote to themselves."

The next opening of The Gents Place will occur in the River Oaks neighborhood in Fall 2017. The Gents Place is backed by franchise expert Elevated Brands, the company behind Massage Heights.
