After the launch of Novomania in Shanghai in 2010 and Chic Young Blood in Beijing in 2011, The Hub is the latest professional fashion event to hit the Asian trade show scene.

The Hub will be held at Asia World Expo in Hong Kong

The trade show, which will take place between 28th and 90th August, will take place in international ‘hub’ Hong Kong, at the Asia World Expo centre, located just a few minutes from the airport.

The event has some real industry experts behind it including, Richard Hobbs who, since arriving in Hong Kong in 1989, has helped various fashion brands find their feet in Asia. His accomplice comes in the form of Peter Caplowe who headed denim brand Evisu International for the 13 years. The two created Entrepot Asia in 2011, a consulting company aimed at helping fashion brands manage their strategy and development in China and South East Asia. Messe Frankfurt’s Asian subsidiary is partnering the event. The event is exclusively open to professionals and buyers from big department stores, franchises and retailers. Unlike competion Chic Young Blood and Novomania, The Hub has opted to host shows on a bi-annual basis in August and February.

For the first edition of the show, the organisers are expecting between 100 and 120 exhibitors to take part. Already confirmed are Adidas Y-3, Barbour, Denim Design Lab, Nigel Hall and Matahari. The show will be separated into five sections: Heritage, Indigo, Designers, Street and Contemporary, which includes made-to-measure and emerging brands.
