The Detox Market moves Canadian flagship to downtown Toronto
The Detox Market has relaunched its Canadian flagship with a new space in the core of Toronto’s downtown.
After spending three years in a storefront on King Street West, the Los Angeles-based green beauty retailer has moved to a more central location in downtown Toronto at 116 Spadina Ave.
The new space, located in the nearly 100-year-old Reading Building in Toronto’s Fashion District, features many of the buildings original elements, including the wood columns and beams, as well as the brick, bringing an industrial feel to its new home.
“While the character of each shop we create for The Detox Market is unique, we chose to use white ash throughout which works well to provide a serene and simple backdrop for all of the products,” explained Amy Lin, from Suulin Architect.
“We gave each area its own character which helps break down the scale of the large space—specific natural stones were chosen for the various areas, as well as different flooring. The freestanding pieces are unique forms that will draw in visitors looking down into the space.”
In store, multiple makeup stations and a skincare area are housed. The space equally features a new wellness area, which will be used for weekly in-store activations, as well as a community table, which will serve to host workshops and events.
Customers can expect to find natural beauty brands like cult favorites such as Odacité, RMS Beauty, goop, and Tata Harper, alongside local Canadian favorites like Province Apothecary and Kaia Naturals.
