The Fondation Louis Vuitton unveiled on Wednesday the “Coming of Age” exhibition, created in loving memory and honour of designer Virgil Abloh, who died on November 28, of cancer after privately battling the disease for several years.

Running until April 27, 2022, the exhibit is an extension of the original “Coming of Age” exhibition, which was curated by Abloh in 2019, in Los Angeles, California.
Presented in creative partnership with Little Big Man Gallery, the exhibition centred around the concept, diversities and complexities of male youth and boyhood - traversing class, race, social economics, subcultures, isolation, and camaraderie. It travelled to Paris, Beijing, Milan, New York, Munich, Tokyo and Seoul.
Now, this new physical embodiment and homage of Virgil’s world combines exhibition spaces, events and digital activations, allowing for participation on a global scale. It regroups, reimagines and expands the original exhibition and narrative story curated by Abloh, while acting as a tribute to the hands-on creator.
“Discover an exhibition that celebrates a creator invested and anchored in his time where the visitor becomes a protagonist, like the artists, photographers, musicians, directors and animators,” The Fondation Louis Vuitton said in a statement on Instagram.
Abloh was menswear creative director of Louis Vuitton since March 2018, and founder of the luxury sportswear label Off-White. He is recognized as one of the most influential designers in fashion.
