The company said Meyer, who is Danish, brings “a strong proven record of success, building important global and European Brands across all channels.”

In the course of a 25-year career, Meyer has held senior positions at a number of big name fashion and apparel labels and most recently spent 11 years at Ralph Lauren. While there he held the position of President Retail, EMEA as well as being part of the luxury group’s global senior management team.

He took up his latest role at Lauren almost two years ago but was previously in a number of roles that should serve him well in his new post, including Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Scandinavia & Baltics. In that post he worked across multiple distribution channels including wholesale and directly-operated retail.

Deputy Chairman Peter Thorsen said he brings “a fresh perspective and incredible depth of brand experience to Tiger of Sweden” as well as “unique sensibility, honesty and authenticity.” He said he is “an exceptionally strong leader with the passion and energy we need. This, combined with his collaborative working style and his intense focus on results, will put us in a stronger position and lead our company into the future.”

Based in Stockholm, Meyer said the brand aims to strengthen its appeal to more consumers globally with IC Group saying his main remit is to drive that international growth.

The announcement of its new CEO comes hot on the heels of the naming of Christoffer Lundman as the new head of Creative & Design.
