American Eagle Outfitters acquired Todd Snyder in November 2015, and the first order of business for the newly acquired brand is opening its first store in the US. The new store is slated to open in October.

The 5,700-square-foot store will be at the base of the Moinian Group building at 60 Madison Avenue and will be a few blocks away from the brand’s offices on 27 West 20th Street. The new store will be located north of Madison Square Park away from the Flatiron shops below 23rd Street, but it will be minutes away from the Lacoste store at the Gansevoort Park Avenue Hotel, Dover Street Market on Lexington Avenue, Maison Kitsuné at the NoMad Hotel and Opening Ceremony at the Ace Hotel.

The New York City-based brand launched its fall collection in 2011 exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Ron Herman. Prior to launching his eponymous label, the Iowa native designed outerwear for Polo Ralph Lauren, worked as director of menswear for Gap and served as Senior Vice President at J. Crew.

Todd Snyder partnered with Champion to form Todd Snyder + Champion, a line of men’s basics and athletic apparel. The collaboration operated a retail location called City Gym on Elizabeth Street in New York City’s NoLita neighborhood, and although the store has closed, the collaboration remains. The brand also has collaborations with PF Flyers, Cole Haan and Timex, which launched at NYFW:M in February.

American Eagle Outfitters acquired Tailgate Clothing Company, including Tailgate and Todd Snyder, for $11 million in cash and stock. Snyder was also named Executive Vice President of American Eagle last year.

Todd Snyder currently operates two stores in Japan in Tokyo and Osaka.
