Toronto fashion showcases to merge together

Published
Jan 4, 2018

You can finally expect the large number of Toronto fashion showcases to dwindle down this season, as Toronto Fashion Week announces it is joining forces with Toronto-based production agency The Collections, the founders of Re/Set, for its up-coming showcase.

Taking place this season February 5 to the 7, 2018, the Re/Set platform will be integrated throughout Toronto Fashion Week events.

The partnership will aim to refresh the designer presentation model with new and engaging experiences, as well as direct-to-consumer activations.

"We're thrilled to partner, and reunite, with The Collections for the upcoming season of Toronto Fashion Week. This partnership allows us to continue promoting and supporting the incredible emerging talent we have in the Canadian market," explained Carolyn Quinn, Executive Director, Toronto Fashion Week.

"We can't wait to further spotlight Canada's fashion identity and continue to establish Toronto as a premiere destination on the international fashion scene."

"We believe collaboration is the key to building and sustaining a relevant fashion economy in Canada, that helps connect and lead designers to international success," added Dwayne Kennedy, co-founder and Fashion Director, The Collections. "This partnership aims to unite our industry, putting the focus back on what is important, designers here at home."

Following the cancelation of Toronto Fashion Week hosted by IMG Canada, the Canadian city saw a slew of new industry events pop-up including Re/Set, as well as the inauguration of TW.

The official Toronto fashion showcase was purchased by Peter Freed, President of Freed Developments, in December, 2016.

Toronto Fashion Week will take place in Yorkville Village.
