Cuban, along with fellow investors Steve and Angela Watts, will use the investment to lead the brand's expansion into the U.S. market. The Watts and Cuban first became connected after the Watts's bodysurfing and water sports company, Slyde Handboards, made an appearance on television's Shark Tank in 2016.

Currently, Veldskoen shoes - which derive their name from a combination of the Afrikaans words veld (field) and skoene (shoes) and are modeled after the traditional South African walking shoe style of the same name - are currently available in the U.S. via the brand's online platform, retailing for $127. The brand's footwear is made using non-toxic rawhide leather, and is available in a variety of styles and colors for men and women.

Based in Cape Town, Veldskoen was founded by Ross Zondagh, Nic Latouf and Nick Dreyer in 2016. The brand is currently available in the U.S., U.K. and South Africa.
