White Mountaineering, founded by Yosuke Aizawa in 2006 after a stint at Comme des Garçons, has lent its outdoors-centric mission to create a series of outerwear for Uniqlo. Styles are characterized by larger silhouettes and a muted color palette. The collection starts at just $20 with pieces for kids and climbs to $150.

For men, the collection features four styles including an oversized parka, a light down oversized jacket, as well as a fleece pullover and fleece jacket. Meanwhile, for women, the collection includes an oversized parka and a fleece pullover shirt and for kids, a padded parka and two variations of the fleece pullover.

“I believe it’s crucial to draw up a clear outline for every product. Not just its merits and demerits, but what you want the people who make the product, and the people who buy it, to have in mind as they engage," said Aizawa, in an interview with Uniqlo.

"
For this collection, our foremost concern was ‘cycles.' This goes beyond the idea of the product cycle, to include different generations, cultural traditions, and ways of making clothes.”

Most recently in September, Uniqlo unveiled a new capsule collection for its UT line, designed in partnership with contemporary U.S. artist Jeff Koons. Likewise, White Mountaineering has collaborated with the likes of Saucony, Adidas, Danner, and Eastpak, on exclusive collections.
