VF Corp. ready for a new acquisition?

As his group closed the 2015 fiscal year on a negative note, Eric Wiseman, CEO of VF Corp., was in combative mood at the conference with financial analysts.

Whereas in early 2015 he was happy to answer a question on his group's abilty to acquire a European brand, this time the executive directly took the floor to talk about the group's brand portfolio.

"I can tell you that in 2016 we will be looking with a keen, proactive eye at the composition of our portfolio, to ensure an optimal positioning in order to maximise our growth and our shareholders' returns," he asserted. "We are actively exploring those business sectors we would like to include in our portfolio. And we are also exploring those in which we wish to be less exposed."

Wiseman did not, however, specify the dates or business sectors he is working on. The group's latest acquisition dates back to mid-2011, when VF Corp. purchased Timberland for €1.4 billion.
