VF in talks with MLB to continue on-field uniform production under Majestic

VF Corporation is trying to make the most of its last two years with Major League Baseball. The company announced on Monday that it is talks with MLB to ensure that its Easton, Pennsylvania facility continues to produce on-field uniforms for the organization.

The MLB announced on Monday a new partnership deal with Under Armour and Fanatics that will begin in 2020 and will replace the organization’s current deal with Nike and Majestic. VF’s Easton, PA facility currently employs about 600 workers and produces all on-field uniforms for the MLB under the Majestic brand.
 
VF announced in March that it is exploring strategic alternatives for its Licensed Sports Group (LSG), its business unit that includes Majestic. LSG also includes licensing agreements with US and international professional sports leagues and lifestyle brands.

Majestic entered into a partnership agreement with Major League Baseball in 2005 shortly before Nike, which signed with the MLB in 2009. Both partnerships will end in 2019.
