Vilebrequin launches collaboration with Off-White
After Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and the Karl Lagerfeld label, it is now Virgil Abloh's turn to join forces with French beachwear label Vilebrequin. The US fashion designer has worked with Vilebrequin, which is owned by American group G-III Apparel, via his Milanese luxury streetwear label Off-White. The collection is available from June 13 2019 at all Off-White stores, on the label's e-shop, and at selected Vilebrequin stores.

The collection consists of five unisex beach shorts models, in black, white, fluorescent yellow, floral and two-tone prints, priced between €220 and €250. For Vilebrequin, which was bought by G-III Apparel in 2012, this collaboration with Virgil Abloh is designed to appeal to its leading market, the USA, and other markets too.

Vilebrequin currently operates nearly 200 monobrand stores worldwide. China is one of the new markets targeted by the label, which is set to open a second store in the country, in Shanghai, at the end of summer. Speaking to FashionNetwork.com last April, Roland Herlory, boss of Vilebrequin, said that the label is aiming to open in China “from 10 to 12 stores in three years, both in major cities and in cities by the seaside.” In 2018, Vilebrequin generated a revenue of €80 million, and is forecasting a growth of 20% this year.
