Want Apothecary’s 19th century pharmacy atmosphere is taking a modern turn with the launch of its first online store.

Want Apothecary launches e-commerce. - Want Apothecary

The unique retail concept originally launched by Want Les Essentiels designers Byron and Dexter Peart and partners Mark and Jacqueline Wiltzer, offers a curated selection of fashion and beauty products from international fashion brands like Acne Studios, Commes des Garçons, Jil Sander, Filippa K, and beauty and body-care brands such as Grown Alchemist, Susanne Kaufmann, Cosmetics 27, Verso Astier de Villatte, and more.

The online store, launched at Wantapothecary.com, embraces the same design ethos as its real life counterpart with a clean and timeless feel, and a modern interpretation of the past.

The first Want Apothecary store opened in Montreal in 2011. The team later opened locations in Toronto and Vancouver in 2013 and 2014, respectively, and its first U.S. location in 2017.

The twin co-founders behind Want Les Essentiels and Want Apocathery announced in September that they were parting ways with the luxury leather goods brand after 15 years of business.

Byron and Dexter Peart sold their stake of the company to business partners Mark and Jacqueline Wiltzer, the owners of Mark Edwards Apparel Inc., a private label manufacturer and importer based in Montreal, which included the leather goods brand and Want Apothecary stores. The terms of the sale were not made public.

Wantapothecary.com is now online and shipping across North America.
