Amer Sports reported a strong jump in third-quarter profit, helped by strong sales of winter sports equipment and clothing.

Third-quarter net sales rose 20 percent to 559 million euros ($773 mln), while operating profit rose 33 percent to 74 million, the company said.

Amer Sports' brands include Salomon ski equipment. It also sells Wilson tennis rackets, but the company said its racquet business was hurt by a soft tennis market.
