Wolverine Worldwide says goodbye to Michigan group president

Published
Apr 20, 2020

Rockford, Michigan-based lifestyle conglomerate Wolverine World Wide, Inc. (Wolverine Worldwide) has announced via a regulatory filing that Todd Spaletto is stepping down from his role as president of its Michigan group on or before May 30, 2020.

Todd Spaletto - The North Face

According to the company, which owns the Wolverine, Sperry, Merrell and Hush Puppies brands, among others, Spaletto’s “departure is not based on any disagreement with the company relating to its operations, policies or practices.”

Spaletto first joined Wolverine Worldwide as president of the company’s outdoor and lifestyle group in February 2017, taking responsibility over brands such as Merrell, Chaco, CAT, Hush Puppies and Sebago.

Following the company’s reorganization into the Boston and Michigan operating groups in 2019, Spaletto took over as president of the latter, which includes Bates, Cat footwear, Chaco, Harley-Davidson footwear, Hush Puppies, HyTest, Merrell and Wolverine.

Before joining Wolverine Worldwide, the executive spent 14 years at The North Face, six of which were spent as the brand’s global president. Other roles held by Spaletto at the company included vice president of sales and director of sales for North America.

Prior to this, the graduate of Indiana University Bloomington held a range of sales-related roles at JanSport and High Sierra.

Wolverine Worldwide has entered into a separation agreement with Spaletto, which guarantees cash payments to the executive in an amount equal to eighteen weeks of his base salary.
