Wrangler and Opening Ceremony partner for 90s-inspired unisex collection
Oct 16, 2019
Kontoor Brands subsidiary Wrangler has joined forces with Opening Ceremony for a vintage-inspired fall/winter 2019 collection of revived pieces from Wrangler’s archive.

The collaboration focuses on revamped interpretations of Wrangler pieces from the 1990s. Dubbed ‘Value’, in an homage to big-box stores of the era and Wrangler’s modern-day concept of value and sustainability, the collection mixes the street-style looks of the '80s and '90s with Wrangler’s western roots and Opening Ceremony’s ultra-cool aesthetic.
Offering fluid, oversized silhouettes meant to be worn by individuals of all gender identities, the collection includes items like checked shirts, short and long-sleeved tees with bold graphics, boxy denim jackets, jeans, dungarees, denim cargo pants and a hooded popper jacket featuring retro colour-blocking in shell-suit fabric. Prices range from $40 to $140.
In order to boost the collaboration’s appeal to today's conscious consumer, Opening Ceremony and Wrangler--whose parent company recently unveiled a new forest-focused sustainability policy--made the collection in limited quantities, and all cotton used is organic cotton.
The collection is available now at Opening Ceremony stores and at openingceremony.com.
