Los Angeles-based manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer XCVI announced on Wednesday that it has acquired the Agave trademark. Effective immediately, XCVI LLC will be designing, manufacturing and distributing Agave products worldwide, including Agave Denim.

Founded by Jeff Shafer in 2002, Santa Monica, California-based Agave offers luxury denim and knitwear for men and women. XCVI will produce most of the Agave collection in Los Angeles, and Shafer will remain with the brand as Creative Director.

“We are delighted to welcome AGAVE to XCVI’s distinguished portfolio,” said Alon Zeltzer, XCVI’s chief executive. “With a 20-year history of authentic California design, we share a passion for brand building with an updated approach that will refine this timeless classic.”

XCVI was founded in 1996, and for 20 years the brand has offered casual apparel for women. The company currently offers full package design-through-production options for companies Ralph Lauren, Guess, Rag & Bone, True Religion and New Balance among others.
