About fifteen years ago, Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto began to collaborate in order to create a product line blending the former's sportswear and the latter's creative skills. Y-3 was born from this union.  After making several forays in sports apparel, notably with a tennis collection for Roland Garros, the brand will feature this season a Y-3 Sport capsule collection.

The collection follows Y-3's black and white design codes, enhanced with Adidas technologies, and it consists of three categories: base-layer, ultralight and approach.

"The Approach Jacket ensures protection from external elements through its invisible, waterproof seams, and utilises a laser technique for ventilation, the brand has stated. In the same category, the Approach Shoe sneakers use Boost technology, the Torsion system and a Primeknit covering shell." For its ultralight products, the brand uses the Adidas Adizero and Techfit fabrics, while the base-layer range uses merino wool.

To launch this new initiative, the brand will be based from 15th April at No. 42, Adidas' premium collaborations store at 42 rue Sévigné, in Paris' Marais district.
