Yoox Group has entered into a new strategic agreement. The online fashion retailing partner has teamed up with WeChat, the instant messaging application developed by the Chinese company Tencent Technology Company, which has become WhatsApp’s biggest competitor within the span of a few years, in order to launch "an innovative global partnership combining social networks, smartphones and e-commerce," the Italian company led by Federico Marchetti said in a statement.

"By taking advantage of the e-commerce and social networking expertise of both companies, this new partnership will revolutionize the online shopping experience," promises Yoox.

The partnership will begin with the launch of yoox.com’s official account on WeChat in the United States and Italy, as well as an update of its existing account in China.

The Bolognese company "will offer its customers an experience that completely integrates shopping, social networks and mobile communication” that will soon be available for both online monobrand online stores managed by Yoox as well as for the account of a thirty or so brands.

Both the fashion site’s clients and WeChat fans will benefit from various services. They will be able to, for example, chat in real time with customer service representatives or consult a personal stylist. Special content will also allow them to attend special events with celebrities and leading fashion voices from across the web.

With "Shake Your Style", an innovative application developed by the Italian company, yoox.com account users on WeChat will be able to suggest new looks to their friends by simply shaking their smartphone, discovering new styles that they will be able to share with their social media contacts.
