Yves Salomon strengthens with retail and e-commerce expansion
Yves Salomon is increasingly emerging as a fashion brand in its own right. Its namesake designer is heir to a line of Russian furriers and a house founded in 1920 in Paris. During the most recent Fashion Week, the French furrier opened his showroom to present for the first time the savoir-faire of his atelier. Yves Salomon is staffed by a team of leading craftsmen, who usually work in the designer's workshop in the Cité Paradis in Paris's 10th arrondissement, the traditional base for Parisian furriers.
It was an opportunity to discover the brand and its evolution. In a few years, the furrier has multiplied its collections and launched a retail expansion, which has accelerated recently, especially towards Asia with the recent opening of two shops in Hong Kong and Beijing. Another store in Beijing is expected to open in mid-November.
Another important milestone for the furrier is the launch of its online boutique in mid-October, which will feature its main Yves Salomon line (women and men), the Army parkas line, the children's line and a wide selection of accessories and web exclusives, according to the brand.
The site will be accessible from all mobile devices, as well as certain social networks such as Instagram, where shoppers can buy certain products directly. Available in French, English, Russian and Chinese, the website will deliver across Europe, the United States, Hong Kong and Dubai within 48 to 72 hours.
The label is also continuing to expand its collections. For the first time, a men's collection for spring-summer 2018 was presented, along with new ready-to-wear pieces in cotton and suede, but also in elaborately crafted leather (very fine, varnished, and pleated).
Yves Salomon is distributed through 500 multi-brand stores worldwide, as well as its own twelve brand stores. The label says its sales come it at 60 million euros annually.
