Zalando: Supervisory board names Kelly Bennett as chairman
This Tuesday, in the run-up to Zalando's annual general meeting, which is scheduled May 24, the nomination committee has proposed that Kelly Bennet become the newest member of the supervisory board. This is to ensure continuity and provide new impetus, according to a statement from Berlin.
Bennett succeeds Cristina Stenbeck, who has decided not to stand for re-election. He is currently vice-chairman of the board and has been a member since 2019. He is also an advisor to the leadership teams of Microsoft, Strava as well as Nubank and was CEO at Netflix.
In addition to Kelly Bennett, the committee has nominated Jennifer Hyman, Niklas Östberg, Anders Holch Povlsen and Mariella Röhm-Kottmann for re-election as shareholder representatives. It also recommends that Susanne Schröter-Crossan be appointed to the supervisory board as an independent member.
"We look forward to working with the new shareholder representatives after the annual general meeting. Kelly's extensive experience in the technology sector, his focus on operational excellence and his track record of building globally popular consumer brands will continue to be a great asset. We are delighted to have found an excellent new supervisory board member, Susanne with her in-depth financial expertise," said Robert Gentz, founder and co-CEO of Zalando.
Stenbeck will hold her mandate until the annual general meeting on May 24, 2023. She was already a member of the supervisory board from 2014 to 2016 and again from 2019 to 2023.
Schröter-Crossan was most recently CEO of the housing company LEG Immobilien SE, where she was also a member of the ESG Steering Committee. Prior to that, she worked in corporate finance in Frankfurt am Main, Hong Kong and London. She currently holds a supervisory board mandate at HelloFresh SE and after the annual general meeting, she is to serve as an additional financial expert on the audit committee.
