Canadian discount brand Zellers is making a return with the opening of 25 Zellers store experiences within Hudson's Bay and the first-ever zellers.ca.

At launch this Spring, the Zellers experience within Hudson's Bay will span between 8,000 to 10,000 square-feet. Four will open in British Columbia, three in Alberta, one each in Saskatoon and Winnipeg, nine in Ontario, five in Quebec and two in Nova Scotia.
In store and online, customers will find products across home decor, toys, baby, apparel and pets, tapping into the nostalgia of the brand Canadians know and love, while introducing a refreshed identity.
“We know how special Zellers is in the hearts and minds of people in Canada. 'Where the lowest price is the law' was a calling card, which has helped Zellers establish itself as more than a retail destination, but a place to build and support community,” said Adam Powell, chief business officer, Zellers, in a statement when plans to revive the Zellers brand were first announced in August of last year.
“Zellers is a brand deeply rooted in the Canadian experience. Spanning generations, people hold distinct connections to Zellers through shared experiences with family and friends, and we look forward to building on that in the future.”
The Zellers department store was founded in 1931 and acquired by HBC in 1978. In 2011, HBC sold the majority of its remaining Zellers leases to Target Corp., closing most stores by 2013. Meanwhile, The Zellers locations converted into Target stores survived for a few years, but Target ultimately exited the country in 2015.
