An award-winning actress known throughout China, Zhou Dongyu has been chosen by Victoria's Secret to be its new face in the Middle Kingdom, reports Women's Wear Daily (WWD). The move is expected to boost the lingerie giant's visibility in the country for years to come.

Actress and model, Zhou Dongyu first rose to fame in the film "Under the Hawthorn Tree," and then built on that success with such features as "My Old Classmate," "Us and Them" and "Better Days"; a series of roles that brought her multiple prizes in such prestigious ceremonies as the Asian Film Awards and the Hong Kong Film Awards.

As it stands, it is not known if the 28-year-old will act as a general spokesperson for the brand in China, or if she is to represent a specific line like Victoria's Secret Pink.
