Almare offers Franco-Italian luggage in Harrods

Making its way from Tuscany to London in one year, the new luxury brand, which offers bags and accessories, has already made great strides.

This spring, Almare, which was launched in 2014 by its French founder, David-Alexandre Detilleux, and which is produced in Tuscany, will be setting up shop on London department store Harrods’ second floor.

Detilleux aims for his weekend bags, shopping bags and even toiletry bags to have a light and stylish touch, recalling director Federico Fellini’s films, including his 1960’s classic La Dolce Vita. With a premium positioning, the brand plays with its canvas, using natural calfskin and Teflon coatings. Last season, the concept notably attracted the attention of Beachcomber hotels in Marrakech and Mauritius, with whom the brand produced a collaboration featuring palm tree prints.

Almare is inspired by the 1960’s Italian film La Dolce Vita - Almare

With bags going for between 300 and 440 euros, Almare now has forty premium locations worldwide, including fifteen in France. In addition to its website, which is available in French, English and Italian, it also enjoys a presence on the sites Menlook and Modetrotter.
