Amazon launches fashion studio in London

Published
Jul 24, 2015

To fuel its growth and clothing sales, the American giant has officially launched a 46,000 square-foot fashion photo studio in London.

Amazon Studio in London

The project was first revealed in November. The studio is located in a former eyewear factory located in Hoxton, on Geffrye Street. It is even bigger than the 40,000 square-foot studio opened in Brooklyn in 2013, which provides the photos for Amazon's American fashion activity.

This new source will have the capacity to provide some 500,000 product images per year, at the same time employing a team of 22 photographers.

Amazon Fashion sold some 30 million products in Europe in the period between April and June. Some of the latest brands to have joined the marketplace include Hugo Boss, Gucci watches, Emporio Armani, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, 7ForAllMankind, American Retro, Petite Bateau, Levi’s, and even Lacoste.

Amazon saw a 20% rise in its sales in its second quarter. Last year, the company generated 78.71 billion euros in revenue (+20% compared to the year prior). The site currently has more than 200 million customers around the world.
