Published
May 15, 2013

Seven designers will be in the running for the ANDAM Fashion Award this year, for a total prize fund of 250,000 euros. The jury, composed of 23 industry professionals and sponsors, has selected the following group of finalists: Alexandre Mattiussi for his contemporary menswear label named Ami; Olympia Le Tan and Iris Van Herpen who have both recently branched out into ready-to-wear from accessories and couture respectively; Maison Rabih Kayrouz for his ready-to-wear line launched in 2012 and based in Paris; Brazilian design protégé Pedro Lourenço who has been presenting his collection in Paris since 2010 and has been making clothes since the age of 15; Chinese designer Masha Ma who produces her luxury collection between China and Europe and has recently started to do contemporary; and finally, Australian Yang Li who has three collections under his belt and made his Paris debut last season. Hailed by the press and influential boutiques alike, Yang Li creates designs for both men and women.

In the running for the Premiéres Collections prize – whose prize total is now at 75,000 euros instead of the previous 60,000 – are Christine Phung, finalist in the Mango Fashion Award 2012 and Winner of the Grand Prix de la Ville de Paris in 2011, Calla Haynes, whose label Calla recently collaborated with Comptoir des Cottoniers and finally, Aganovich, a British duo based in Paris and financed by Jimmy Chan, the owner of Rue du Mail.

The jury, this year run by Renzo Rosso, will come together in Paris on July 4 to decide on the winner.
