The rumours were wrong. Although Paul Surridge (Z Zegna) was said to be the next head of menswear, it is designer Barnabé Hardy who has just been appointed cretive director at Carven menswear, replacing Guillaume Henry, who left for Nina Ricci.

For a long time the designer worked with Nicolas Ghesquière, first at Callaghan in Italy (1999-2001), then at Balenciaga, where he created and designed the men's line for eight years (1999-2007).

In parallel, the designer launched a first line of sweatshirts in 2001, "Minets par Barnabé", embroidered with sequins, and in 2009 made his name known by launching his own brand.

A line of leather jackets sold around the world and worn by basketball stars LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and rock stars, like Mick Jagger. He even created a line of jackets for French mail order company "3 Suisses".

His first collection for Carven will focus on spring/summer 2016.
