Bergdorf Goodman opens shop-in-shop for Donna Karan's Urban Zen
Urban Zen, Donna Karan’s fashion brand inspired by her world travels, launched at Bergdorf Goodman on Monday.
The spring collection is available online and in store at a dedicated boutique, and consists of elegant luxury sportswear made by local artisans from around the world, jewelry, handbags and home décor. The 600-square-foot Urban Zen shop-in-shop was formerly a Donna Karan Collection space, but Karan rebranded the space per the suggestion of Bergdorf Goodman President Joshua Schulman.
The new Urban Zen boutique was slated to changeover in March, and on April 20, Bergdorf and Donna Karan hosted an opening party for the new space.
Karan launched Urban Zen in 2007, and she parted ways with her company, Donna Karan International, in 2015 to focus more on the project. Urban Zen is a fashion line and Foundation aimed to preserve culture and promote philanthropy and commerce. The brand also operates a flagship store in New York City, a shop in Sag Harbor, NY, a seasonal location in Aspen, CO and a pop up at Americana Manhassat in Long Island that will remain through 2016.
