Body Glove expands European distribution with Shiner Ltd.

Body Glove parent company Marquee Brands has partnered with Shiner Ltd. to sell Body Glove men's, women's, and children's collections at 1,000 new points of sale in Europe.

European-based Shiner Ltd. will become the new strategic European licensee for Body Glove. It will function as the main point of contact for sales in Europe going forward.

“The scope for [Body Glove's] growth is enormous," said Michael DeVirgilio, president of Marquee Brands, commenting on the partnership in a release, while Charlie Allen of Shiner Ltd. highlighted Body Glove's heritage and equity, calling it an iconic brand.

Body Glove was founded in Redondo Beach, CA in 1953 by twin brothers Bob and Bill Meistrell. The company was one of the first to pioneer wetsuit technology that helped transform the surf industry.

Body Glove was acquired by Marquee in late 2016 and continues to hold brand value in surf, outdoor sports and lifestyle markets. The brand lives on through a wide range of licensing deals across categories from footwear to apparel.
