Capsule Men's at La Mutualité: a voluntary decision

Contemporary fashion and lifestyle tradeshow Capsule has announced new dates and new venues for its AW16 menswear shows in both Paris and New York. To clarify any previous reports, the decisions were voluntary and strategic.

The changes will make the shows more accessible to more retailers and visitors. In New York, Capsule will now be held at Pier 92, next door to Liberty at Pier 94. The show will take place on  to January 26-­28 in order to accommodate NYFW:Men’s  presentation schedule. And good news for visitors and retailers - the opening hours have been extended from two to three days.

In Paris, Capsule will hold its menswear show during Paris Fashion Week on January 22-24. The trade show's new venue is the beautiful and historic Maison de la Mutualité, which was chosen to make the show more easily reachable for buyers. Capsule had previously been held in Cite de la Mode, but retailers and vendors thought that space was too far away and inconvenient.

“In 2015 we moved our New York women’s ready to wear and accessories shows to midtown Manhattan’s Pier 94 and have received an overwhelmingly positive response from our community. Not only did more retailers come, thanks to the more central location, but on average they stayed with us significantly longer than in shows past. Our venue move to Pier 92 for men’s market week represents a huge step forward in what we are able to accomplish the New York market,” said co­‐ founder Deirdre Maloney.

“Our ability to continue to offer a sharply edited presentation of the world’s most influential emerging brands in a more centralized, easy to reach location, with more accessible show hours, conveniently located alongside Liberty will allow us to offer better, more personalized service to retailers."
