Capsule show to open first-ever retail shop in Los Angeles
The Capsule Show is adding to its list of firsts with the announcement of its first retail store in Los Angeles. Capsule Concept, a rotating-themed concept shop, will open on October 4, 2016 at Platform in Culver City, CA joining brands Aesop and Linda Farrow and menswear boutique Magasin.
The new retail concept will open with a month-long “Beach” theme and will feature brands Solid & Striped, Stone Fox, A Peace Treaty, Ursa Major, Illesteva and Garrett Leight California Optical. The Beach theme coincides with the first-ever Capsule Los Angeles Women’s trade show that will take place on October 17 and 18.
“Our community of brands is so special,” says Capsule co-founder Deirdre Maloney “and we’re excited to be launching a retail venture – it’s just another way to showcase and elevate some of our tremendous talent. With the launch of our LA show and a real renaissance in the design and brands coming out of that city, the location made perfect sense.”
Capsule this year launched its LA women’s show and merged with Axis trade show after partnering on three shows.
Capsule Concept: Beach will run through October and will be followed by a “Body” activewear concept and a “Beauty” concept featuring independent beauty and apothecary brands.
