Carolina Herrera on Monday named Lauren Astry Sorensen the Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications. She previously served as Public Relations Director for the company.

As VP of Global Marketing and Communications, Sorensen will be responsible for developing and managing the company’s marketing vision and overseeing all aspects of the communications department, including public relations, advertising and brand partnerships and events. She will report to Emilie Rubinfeld, President of Carolina Herrera, who was recently named President after serving as Chief Marketing Officer.

Prior to joining Carolina Herrera in 2013, Sorensen worked at Ports 1961.

The new appointment follows the departure of François Kress, who stepped down from his role as CEO of Carolina Herrera in January.
