Chalhoub Group signs UN Global Compact

Published
Apr 30, 2015

Chalhoub Group, the leading partner for luxury in the Middle East - an expert in retail, distribution and marketing - has signed the United Nations Global Compact.

The 97,000 square foot Level Shoes District at the Dubai Mall.

Among the 207 member companies based in the region, it is the first luxury group to become part of the organization.

By joining the Global Compact Community, the group commits itself to ensuring that its operations and strategies align with ten universally accepted principles concerning human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.

The group is especially aiming to achieve sustainable development objectives in the region.

In fact, the group - which now has more than 11,000 employees in fourteen countries and manages over six hundred locations - wants to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

"We are a family business driven by the values of respect, excellence and entrepreneurial spirit; and believe sustainability is the balance between economic priorities; promoting empowerment for all stakeholders and environmental protection. This year, we celebrate sixty years of working with brands in the region. Throughout this adventure, we have learned and have become convinced that sustainable business is an opportunity to create value while making the world a better place," explained Patrick Chalhoub, CEO of Chalhoub Group.
