Dakine appoints new CEO

Dakine continues its restructuring effort. The brand was bought in 2013 from Billabong by US investment fund Altamont Capital, and at the end of 2015 its CEO Leslie Lane resigned. After leaving the board sport-inspired bags and apparel brand, Lane has taken charge of Dr Martens in the USA.

Dakine, which is part of the Renegade Brands group, comprising the action sports brands owned by Altamont Capital, has now revealed the name of Lane's successor. He is Kenneth Meidell, who was President and COO at Outdoor Research since 2013, having previously worked for 12 years at Cascade Designs, owner of several outdoor brands.

In Europe, the former General Manager of Le Coq Sportif, Frank Heissat, has taken charge of brand strategy for Renegade Brands. Heading Dakine in Europe, he is currently organising brand's European management team.
