Denim by Première Vision beats own attendance record

Published
Dec 5, 2012

This 11th edition brought together some 87 exhibitors, 7% more than in December 2011, representing companies from 19 different countries. In terms of visitors, over 70% of the buyers came from abroad. This international group hailed mainly from Western Europe, also showing a significant increase in British and German delegations. Visitors from Northern Europe were up 8%, with the Netherlands even posting a 20% increase in event attendance.

But organizers especially pointed to the stable number of visitors from Italy and Spain, “confirming that the show is still very attractive despite a volatile and difficult economic climate.” Turkey even increased by 31%. The organizers stressed the “presence of the United States, whose visitors were among the most prestigious players in the world of denim.”

As FashionMag reported on the second day of the show, this edition attracted professionals through its new buying tempo as well its new design. The booths are now very striking, made of metal structures with a rust-finish look. But above all, the products themselves made the biggest impression, showing a richness in concept and processes that will definitely be picked up by companies in the industry.

The next Denim by Première Vision will take place 22 and 23 May. In the meantime, the event will hold an Asian edition in March with a change in format. The satellite had initially alternated between Beijing and Shanghai, but will now be held regularly in Shanghai.
