Diesel appoints new CEO for Europe

Earlier in the month, Joanna Onland joined Safilo's management team in Europe. She had started working for Italian fashion label Diesel in 2010, and since September 2015 she was in charge of its European business.

To take Onland's place, Diesel has decided to trust a director who knows the brand perfectly. Jonathan Hewlett joined Diesel in 2008, bringing to the label the organisational expertise he acquired working sixteen years at Procter & Gamble. He built his career in various management roles, and after becoming associate director at P&G, he took charge of the Prestige Beauty division, for which he defined the retail deployment strategy for fragrances.

At Diesel, the British manager was initially in charge of the UK business, before taking over northern Europe in 2012. At the beginning of the year he was appointed CEO of Diesel in China, and now he is returning to Europe to oversee the fashion label's entire European business.
