Fast Company named its 50 Most Innovative Companies of 2016 on Tuesday, which include a number fashion-related companies and brands like the San Francisco-based company Everlane and the Canadian technical luxury apparel brand Kit and Ace.

Everlane and Kit and Ace graced the list at numbers 24 and 25, respectively, for Everlane’s increasing level of transparency that puts customers values first and for Kit and Ace’s innovative performance fabrics.
“When we launched 18 months ago we had big plans and set out audacious goals,” said JJ Wilson, Co-founder and Head of Brand at Kit and Ace. “And today, we made one of those goals come true. This is a major achievement for Kit and Ace – we take pride in being an innovative company and we’re honoured to be recognized amongst some of the greatest companies in the world.”
Other companies that made it to the top 50 list include eyewear brand Warby Parker at 21, Farfetch at 23 and Shopify at 47.
The magazine also split the list into sectors to honor companies that didn’t make it to the top 50 list. Adidas and Muji were named innovators in the design sector, and the style sector included Balmain, Birchbox, Louis Vuitton, Asos, Iris Van Herpen, Lemaire, Outdoor Voices and Supreme. Each company contributed an innovation to the world of style, for example Balmain is regarded as the first social fashion house, Louis Vuitton is praised for casting Jaden Smith to model womenswear, and Asos made virtual reality shopping a norm.
Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies list is one of the most significant and highly anticipated editorial efforts of the year.
