Fast Fashion Lille strengthens its international appeal
Fashion and textile trade show Fast Fashion Lille, which took place between 5 and 6 June, saw a stable increase in attendance this edition, much to the delight of organisers Eurovet.
The trade show attracted 4,917 visitors to its recent edition. Of those, 61% came to visit Tissu Premier and 39% for the Collections section of the show, with this edition marking the third since the two shows decided to group together. New exhibitors from Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and Italy made for an even richer and diverse product offering.
This variety drew in a more international visitor profile, with more than 37% of all visitors coming from outside of France, up 7% on the previous edition. Aside from a strong presence from northern European countries, the show’s organizers also noted an increase of Polish and Russian participation.
32% of all visitors were buyers, 24% designers and 21% company heads. 24% of professionals came to sample what is on offer, 23% to meet suppliers, 17% to take part in seminars and 4% to place orders. At Tissu Premier, ready-to-wear fabrics were in the highest demand, followed by denim and casual fabrics. As for Collections, visitors came mostly for womenswear (55%), followed by childrenswear (23%) and menswear (22%).
Take place during the show was the Recycling competition that invited fashion students to present pieces made from sustainable and recycled resources. The jury crowned Chloé Prunier from Esmod Roubaix as their winner, with Deborah Beardmore from University of Centeal Lancashire and Aline Le Penne from lycée Sévigneé de Tourcoing also awarded prizes. Taking home the people’s choice award was Saruul Baatar, also from lycée Sévigneé de Tourcoing.
