Fay clothing brand hires Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimdoni for women's line

May 18 — Tod's Group says the Italian designing duo Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi is taking over the women's line at its Fay fashion brand, worn by such stars as Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock.

The pair most recently were designing for Gianfranco Ferre, where they landed in 2008. Ferre has recently been purchased by a Dubai fashion group, which had indicated it was looking for a change.
Aquilano and Rimdoni will present their first collection in September during Milan's Fashion Week for the spring/summer 2012.
The duo's star has been on the rise since winning Vogue Italy's "Who's On Next" competition in 2005.
Tod's Group, which includes the famed leatherwear, praised the pair's "valuable experience and enthusiasm" in a statement Wednesday.
