Fred Segal opening second Japan location

LA retailer Fred Segal will open a second Japan location in Yokohama’s new waterfront Marine & Walk retail destination.

Yokohama’s Marine & Walk will open March 4, 2016 with 26 retailers, including West Coast brands like Santa Monica’s own Tom’s, and Vancouver’s Kit & Ace.

Founded in LA in 1961, Fred Segal is known for “laid back luxury.”

CEO Paul Blum comments that Fred Segal is “thrilled” to open this second Japanese location in a “thriving local community with good views of the ocean,” with a similar vibe to Southern California.

The Yokohama store will have men’s, women’s, accessories and a cafe, similar to other Fred Segal locations. The shop will be over 17,000 square feet, roughly twice the size of the pilot Tokyo location opened last year.
