Frédéric Malle has launched his second Editions de Parfums store in New York. Having opened his first on 898 Madison Avenue in 2010, the French perfume curator has opened the doors of another location in the heart of West Village at 94 Greenwich Avenue.

Designed by Steven Holl, the new boutique combines two of Frédéric Malle’s passions: perfumes and architecture. The grandson of Christian Dior perfumes founder Serge Heftler, Malle would like to celebrate the work of architects through creative relationships analogous to those he shares with perfumers. "I will ask them to design their dream shop with no compromise, nor limitation, although this time there will be a budget, (...) 94 Greenwich Avenue by Steven Holl is the first of this new collection of Editions de Parfums boutiques designed by one of the greatest architects of our era,” said Frédéric Malle, who may soon open a store in Rome as well. Among the fragrances available in the recently opened New York store will Editions de Parfums’ new Eau de Magnolia, created by perfumer Carlos Benaim.

Opened in June 2000 at 37 Rue de Grenelle in Paris, Editions de Parfums’ first freestanding shop was imagined by Andrée Putman and Frédéric Malle, and designed by Olivier Lempereur. Editions de Parfums now has three shops in the French capital and its perfumes are available in hundreds of stores worldwide.
