Gap Inc. signs lease on photo and design studio in Brooklyn, NY

Industry City, Brooklyn’s 16 building, 6 million square-foot complex at Sunset Park, announced on Thursday that Gap Inc. is moving in. The company will open a 20,000-square-foot photo and design studio at the complex this spring.

Gap signed a 10-year lease in March that was negotiated by Eric Deutsch and Jason Pollen of CBRE Group on behalf of the company and Brett Harvey and Jeff Fein of Industry’s City internal leasing team. The space boasts 13-foot ceilings and large windows and will be used for product photography and design marketing materials.
Since launching in 2013, Industry City located in Brooklyn, NY has leased over 2 million square feet of space, including over 1 million square feet to manufacturer, and has increased employment from 1,900 jobs to 4,100 jobs. Notable tenant acquisitions include Time Inc., which moved in December 2015, and Suneris, a fast-growing biotech startup.
At Industry City, Gap Inc. will join a number of design firms and fashion companies, including West Elm, Malia Mills, Material Wrld, Design Within Reach, The Line, and David Stark Design and Production among others.
