Garrett Leight announces collaboration eyewear with W South Beach
Garrett Leight and W South Beach Hotel announced its first-ever collaboration eyewear that launched this month.
Leight, who is the founder and designer for his namesake eyewear label, Garrett Leight California Optical, created a one-of-a-kind unisex pair of sunglasses for W South Beach. The collaboration eyewear features crystal acetate and a cool blue lens that are inspired by the hotel’s pool, which is one of the largest in Miami.
"Creating a frame and envisioning life on a beach outside W South Beach was a rare, relaxing design moment for me,” said Garrett Leight. “It doesn't matter how perfect the weather in California is, Miami always brings its own colorful inspiration in the picture. We all need a little mental Miami escape once in a while, even a Californian sunglass designer.”
Only 100 pairs of the sunglasses were created and will never be reproduced. The frames are available for W South Beach guests at the W Store and at Garrett Leight stores and online.
Leight is a frequent collaborator that had an ongoing partnership with Thierry Lasry and continues to collaborate with Mark McNairy. In 2015, the eyewear designer opened two stores in San Francisco and New York City.
