Glossier opens shop on Melrose

Glossier's second permanent retail location has opened in LA. The Melrose Place location joins the cult makeup brand's first permanent location in NY where the company is also headquartered.

Glossier announced the official opening on Instagram saying, "Glossier LA opens at 8407 Melrose Place TODAY at 10am." Two hours later, the post already had already garnered 50,000 likes.

The 1,500 square-foot location offers customers an environment where they can immerse themselves in millennial pink, Glossier's signature brand color. In addition to a full product lineup, the store is designed with Instagram-friendly spaces and multiple mirrors for selfies.

The LA store joins the NY Showroom which opened in 2016. According to founder Emily Weiss, Glossier's 2-year-old NY store boasts more sales per square foot than Apple stores.

Glossier has also held pop-ups in London, Toronto and San Francisco. Earlier this spring, Forbes reported the brand's San Francisco pop-up was selling a Glossier product every 20 seconds.

Glossier started in 2014 as a skincare brand and is now backed by $86 million, $52 million of which came from a Series C funding round this February. Glossier now offers color cosmetics and fragrance as well as its core skin products.

Glossier's LA location is open seven days a week at 8407 Melrose Place in Los Angeles, CA.
