The 25,000-square-foot location will be the first US H&M store to be applying for LEED certification. The store interior will operate on renewable power sources and use less electricity than a conventional office building. The Swedish retailer will also be incorporating recycled content throughout the store.

News of H&M opening a store at Westfield World Trade Center first began in April of this year. Rumors circulated that the retailer would open an outlet store location at the mall.

In addition to the Westfield World Trade Center store, H&M will open its 500th North America location at Dolphin Mall in Miami, Florida on December 10, 2015.

Westfield World Trade Center announced in October that is fully leased and it plans to open stores for 57 confirmed retailers in the first half of 2016.
