Hublot opens New York City global flagship
The global flagship is the latest collaboration between Hublot and Peter Marino Architect, and it features a dramatic LED-lit façade with powder coated black aluminum panels. The 1,500-square-foot interior is designed with black lava stone and wood floors, graphite-colored leather furnishings, glass and polished stainless steel fixtures, and high-tech innovations including “shadow-less” LCD vitrine windows, a wall of monitors and a “book” with virtual turning pages.
The Swiss company held a Grand Opening celebration hosted by Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe. Guadalupe led the ribbon cutting ceremony with Peter Marino, Brand Ambassador Pelé and Usain Bolt, who was presented with the limited edition Big Bang Unico watch by a duo of Bandaloop dancers who descended from the rooftop. The dancers also danced across the flagship’s façade above the entrance.
Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot and President of LVMH Watch Division, shared: “We are ecstatic to honor the accomplishments of our great brand. At Hublot, we strive to Be First, Be Unique, Be Different. We break the mold when it comes to design, innovation and watchmaking expertise, and we are proud to celebrate these achievements with our closest friends tonight.”
