Hudson’s Bay and Shoppers Drug Mart among Canada's most trusted retailers

Market research firm BrandSpark International announced on Monday winners of the 2016 BrandSpark Most Trusted Awards for retailers across Canada. Nationally, in the clothing and fashion retail category the Hudson’s bay was named the most trusted, while in the beauty and personal care category Shoppers Drug Mart took the number one spot.
 
Among the different Canadian regions, in the clothing and fashion category, Quebec also named retailer Reitmans, Sears and Simons as a trusted retailer. These stores were tied with the Hudson’s Bay. In the Atlantic regions, Mark’s, Reitmans, Walmart and Winners were tied as most trusted.  

 
"We also see a trusted brand from Quebec in fashion retail, Simons, now expanding across English Canada and it will be interesting to see how they can translate their French Canada success as they expand," says Robert Levy, President and CEO of BrandSpark International, in a news statement.
 
In the department store category, American retailer Walmart came out on top nationally.

The results were based on the annual BrandSpark Canadian Shopper Study where survey participants named the retailers that they consider their most trusted in 16 household and personal shopping categories. More than 7,500 respondents participated in the BrandSpark Canadian Shopper Study between November 2015 and March 2016.
