Hudson’s Bay names David J. Schwartz EVP & General Counsel

Hudson’s Bay Company announced on Thursday the appointment of David J. Schwartz as General Counsel and Executive Vice President, effective September 30, 2016. Schwartz succeeds David Pickwoad, the company’s General Counsel who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
 

As General Counsel and Executive Vice President, Schwartz will lead Hudson’s Bay global legal organization across and banners and drive initiatives. He will report to HBC CEO Jerry Storch, be a member of the Company’s Executive Leadership Team, and serve as corporate secretary to its Board of Directors.

Schwartz heads to HBC from Toys “R” Us where he worked for 15 years and served as General Counsel for over a decade. He began with the company in 2001 as Vice President, Corporate Counsel, was named Deputy General Counsel in 2002 and was appointed General Counsel in 2003. Prior to Toys “R” Us, Schwartz was a corporate partner at Anderson, Kill & Olick, P.C.
