Hunter launches first flagship

Published
May 7, 2014

Hunter’s February show in London.

Hunter is continuing to remake itself into a luxury and lifestyle brand. Now, the British brand, which is more than a century old and whose core product is wellington boots, has just signed an agreement with The Crown Estate to set up shop at 83 Regent Street. The 492-square-meter store is expected to open this fall.

"Choosing to establish our first retail presence on Regent Street stays true to our heritage as a British brand," said James Seuss, CEO of the company that was founded in 1856.

The announcement comes as a real milestone for the British brand, which discretely announced the launch of its foray into clothing this spring, having staged its first real fashion show in February.

The collection has been designed by Alasdhair Willis, Stella McCartney’s husband. The brand’s product range has, in the meantime, been split into two core lines: Original - obviously the more fashionable of the two, drawing from the brand’s archives - and Hunter Field, which features more functional productions to be introduced for spring/summer 2015.
